The Summer In-Town Feldenkrais Retreat offers three days of gentle movement, awareness practice, self-care and restoration; a clean, quiet, comfortable space; an experienced teacher ... and you don't even have to travel to enjoy it! Our theme for this retreat will be: Exploring Dynamic Resilience. We often meet life's challenges with our own particular brand of machismo—we are tough guys, martyrs, stoics, deflectors, chameleons and more. These identities are often brittle shells that don't serve us in the long run. There is a correlate in our bodily experience in the many ways we compensate for perceived weaknesses, such as by over-efforting, or by relying on one leg to carry the burden of our whole weight. Through Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement, we'll encounter the unconscious ways in which we create unhelpful "protections," and allow our true strength to emerge from unencumbered movement.
